Omar Perez, Attorney at Law

Mr. Perez received his law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School and his bachelor’s degree from Brown University.  During his time in law school, he was President of the Latin American Law Students Association and participated in the Community Development Clinic, which aided a neighborhood association in attaining IRS 501(c)(3), non-profit status.  Mr. Perez also had the opportunity to intern at major law firms in both Atlanta and New York.

After receiving his law degree, Mr. Perez returned to his hometown of Orlando and began his career in Central Florida’s largest business law firm, practicing in the areas of real estate law and finance; land use planning; property rights litigation; and family law.  Mr. Perez later joined the law firm of Gibson/Simon as Of Counsel, representing clients in their Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy proceedings.  He also assists in family law and personal injury matters.
Mr. Perez is member of both the Florida Bar and the Orange County Bar Association.  He is also a member of the Hispanic Bar Association of Central Florida, serving on their 20th Anniversary Committee.  Mr. Perez is licensed to practice law before the Florida state courts and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida.  Additionally, he is a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, a group dedicated towards the protection of consumer debtors and educating attorneys in the most recent developments in bankruptcy law.  Mr. Perez is an active member of his community serving as co-coordinator of the Brown Alumni Schools Committee and as associate member and volunteer of the Orlando Museum of Art.
